We are AWESOME!

We shoot lots of things…but mostly people.

We are a husband and wife photography team. Since getting married in 2006 Amanda has loved all things wedding.  Working together shooting weddings has been a way for her to get her fix! Andrew has always been fascinated in taking portraits, he felt shooting weddings was the next logical step.

We have a well balanced style combining a photo journalistic approach with modern and unique posed shots to tell the story of your special day. We’ll capture your family and friends celebrating along with you so that years from now when you look at your wedding album you can relive the entire day down to the smallest of details. You’ve spent all the time planning this day, make sure it’s all documented through your photographs.

Along with weddings we also shoot other portrait sessions.  Lately Amanda has really enjoyed shooting newborns & babies as well as maternity sessions.  We also shoot family sessions, seniors & head shots.  You’ll find our most recent work as well as what we are doing in our personal lives.  Read more: full bio page

Drew and I had the honor of shooting my cousin Sara’s wedding a few weeks ago down in Maryland.  It was a fun filled family trip down to Maryland.  We made the trek with a van filled with my parent’s, brother and his fiance and our little lady Prue.  Yup, you read that right, we were the crazy family van making our way down to Maryland for the wedding.  It was totally worth it though!  We had a blast hanging out and celebrating with our family, along with being able to do what we love and capturing all their special moments.  Prue loved going to the wedding.  She still talks about “Sara & Eric’s wedding” all the time.  Just the other day we were driving and she told me she thought that was where Sara & Eric got married (clearly living in Massachusetts means we were no where near where they got married).

So this might be a photo heavy post…so what it’s my family and I’ll post lots of photos if I want too!!

Sara got the bridesmaids these super cute clutches.  I wanted to steal one :)

I love this image of Eric right before they left the hotel to head over to the ceremony site.

There was lots of this all night long as you will see.

Sara was such a chill bride.  She didn’t want to Eric to see her before the wedding in her dress, but she was fine with seeing him before the wedding.  This was minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to start.  Just hanging out laughing together.

Sara’s Aunt (on her Mom’s side) did all the flowers.  She did an amazing job with all the bouquets and centerpieces.  They were lovely.

The sun was out right before the ceremony.  We were worried about pending thunder storms all day, luckily while the sun disappeared for the wedding ceremony we were able to get through the ceremony and wedding portraits before it started to drizzle.

I love this angle Drew as able to capture of Sara walking down the aisle.  This is the benefit of having a wedding outdoors you have so much more space and can capture different angles.

Sara had a little trouble getting Eric’s ring on, it made for a cute moment!

You can see the dark clouds starting to creep in on us.  We rallied and got all the portraits done is a tiny amount of time.  I might have been running around like a crazy person but it got done so who cares.

My beautiful cousin Katherine, Sara’s sister showing off some more of the flowers.

The bridesmaids had a fun time hamming it up during photos!

Sara and Eric had one photo they really wanted.  It’s the one below.  They wanted to have Nick, one of the groomsmen photo bomb one of their images.  Nick did a great job nailing his part.

Sara & Eric brewed their own beer for the wedding.  Not being a beer drinker I didn’t try one, but I believe Drew enjoyed a couple of them :)

Sara’s mom, my Aunt Cris, is an avid quilter.  She has kindly made me a high school graduation quilt, a gorgeous wedding quilt, even quilts for Prue.  It was no surprise that she’d be making a wedding quilt for Sara & Eric.  Guests were able to write well wishes for the couple onto fabric which she will then create a quilt with.  Such a unique idea!!

Prue was very excited to have bubbles at the table to play with (thanks Sara).  She was also very proud of her escort card with her name on it :)  This was her first wedding and she had lot’s of fun.

I told you the guys partook in enjoying several shots through out the evening.  Eric was certainly having fun by the end of the night!  During family holidays (when we usually get to see Sara & Eric) he is usually very quiet, I have plans for busting out some shot glasses this year!

Had to throw in this sweet photo of my twin sister and Prue that I snagged of all places…in the ladies room.

A yummy cannoli cake that Sara surprised Eric with.  There was also some other cakes and desserts for the rest of the guests.  Sara tipped me to the cannoli cake so I was able to make sure I snagged a piece of it before it was all gone.

We have a photo of all the girl cousins (minus Prue of course) from my wedding.  Sara wanted to make sure we got that same photo.

Then we decided we might as well allow the boy cousins in a photo as well.

I don’t know what was going on during these photos, I just knew I needed to document it.

Ending the evening with a special MrDrew Photo.  Thanks Sara & Eric for letting us celebrate with you.  We had a blast and it was totally worth the 9 hour drive :)  Love you both lots!

We kicked off our 2012 wedding season a few weeks back with Megan and Marc’s wedding.  We had a great time hanging out with them and capturing their wedding, it was a great start to the season.  They are a sweet couple who together planned a lovely wedding enjoyed by their family and friends.  Megan is such a thoughtful bride!  Each bridesmaid had different jewelry and brooches on their bouquets that she found at the Brimfield Antique Show.  She even bought me, Amanda, a gift and gave it to me on her wedding day.  She found these adorable mustache socks that she said she had to get me…they are now known as my wedding socks!

We started off the day at Megan’s parents house where Megan and her bridesmaids were getting ready.  Soon after arriving Drew headed off to the church to meet up the Marc and the groomsmen at the church.  I was lucky enough to snag a ride on the trolley that Megan and Marc rented for the wedding party.  It was such a fun way to get to the ceremony and then onto the reception.  Once everyone was ready we all headed over to the church for a lovely ceremony.

After the ceremony a friend brought by their dog Duncan for a few quick snap shots.  Duncan was so excited to be there!  Megan and Marc were just as happy to have him brought by for a few special moments.  After Duncan’s visit it was time for some portraits at the Church and then we headed off to the reception at Raffael’s in Walpole.  This time around I didn’t hop on the trolley with the wedding party, but I am sure they had lots of fun celebrating on the way to the reception.  Once at the reception we stole the couple and the wedding party for a few more photos and then it was time to party.

Check back for the second half of Megan & Marc’s wedding!

This mini session happened way back in November (I think it was November, that seems ages ago) .  It was a mini session that I shot in Worcester, I also had a maternity session booked that same day right before it.  It made the treck out to Worcester worth it!  We have posted some sneak peeks from our mini sessions in the Fall, but never a full blog post.  I was recently updating our portrait portfolio site and was looking through all of our previous sessions.  I decided that I had to do a full blog post of this one, I just love these photos (and love the family that these photos are of!).

We want to capture you & your families memories and we understand not everyone has the budget to do a full portrait session.  We’ve decided to offer the option of booking a mini session WHENEVER you want!  We typically schedule a full day of mini sessions at a designated location a few times a year.  We’ve had several inquires asking when we were going to do our spring mini sessions, but due to our schedules we have had a hard time finding day where we could schedule a full day of them.

Contact us to book your mini session now!  Weekends in April & May are mostly booked, but weekdays are definitely available.  Mini sessions are 30 minutes long and are shot on location at any location you want within the Greater Lowell Area.  Sessions booked outside of the Greater Lowell Area will incur a small travel fee.  If you aren’t sure where to have your session just ask us, we have lots of ideas for locations.

Sessions are $75, this covers the 30 minute session.  Prints and Products can be purchased a la carte after the session.  Contact us for more information on the products we offer & too book your session today!

We love creating wedding albums and really encourage all of our couples to order a wedding album.  (We’ll delve into this topic more in another post).  Today we wanted to showcase one of the companies we offer albums from.  Kiss is a really great company (developed by photographers) with a really great product.  We offer both the leather and linen albums they offer (contact us to schedule a meeting so you can see these lovelies in person!).

Kiss Wedding albums come in 2 options.  There is the Leather Album (which we will showcase first) and the Linen Album.  Both albums come in a selection of 7 colors (we love the green and pink options, but there are also more traditional color choices like black, brown and white).  Each album comes in a lovely dust cover to protect it.  The fabric design sometimes changes, but it is always a black and white pattern.

Here you see our Leather sample.  This sample is a 10×10 album.  They come in 4 sizes 4×4, 8×8, 10×10, and 12×12.  The cover is a 100% full grain leather, selected for it’s strength and quality.  The leather albums are designed so that they lay flat and there is no cut at the middle of the spread.  It is created with what they call a mico-fold, not a cut this allows for the spreads to be designed across the middle without having to worry about a cut distracting from the design.

Each spread is a photographic print mounted to a hard substrate separating the images.  This creates a more substantial and thicker page (great for a wedding album!)  The linen albums (as you’ll see further down in the post) have a thinner page.  Instead of having a substrate that the pages are mounted to the linen albums pages are photographic prints glued back to back.  This is why they are thinner and less expensive.

Photos can bleed all the way to the edge of the page.  We love designing albums with a couple full bleed spreads that truly showcase your amazing images.

Here you can see the linen album (pink) with the leather album (green).  While the leather album makes a perfect wedding album, we also offer the linen because it is less expensive to produce and some clients might not want a leather covered album.  You can see in the images below how the pages are thinner then the leather album.  (The leather sample we show does have more spreads then the linen sample shown).

The linen albums still offer the micro-fold pages and are also photographic prints so the quality is still there.  It’s still a great option for a wedding album.  The other difference between the leather and linen albums is the linen albums open to the first spread while the leather albums have a black end sheet that you open too.

You can see the lay-flat binding and the mirco-fold in the image below.

Kiss albums offer true photographic prints in their albums, unlike press printed albums which use inks and print on paper (we feel press printed albums are a great choice for engagement guestbooks).  The quality is definitely miles above with a Kiss album.  An album using photographic prints will last longer then a press printed album.  They will not yellow like paper.   Wedding albums are meant to be heir looms, don’t you want it to last a lifetime and longer!

Each wedding album is custom designed to tell the story of your wedding day.  Each wedding is unique and is a special story, this is why each album is custom designed.  They start at 12 spreads (24 pages) and can go up to 40 spreads (80 pages).  We suggest most couples go with 20-30 spreads (40-60 pages) for their wedding album.  This way each spread isn’t too crammed with images and can really showcase your wedding.

We headed down to CT for Greg & Nicole’s wedding this past September, with the rush of holiday portrait sessions and orders there wedding never made it to our blog :( Better late then never, right.  We had a great time on a lovely September day celebrating with their family and friends.  The Webb Barn, at the Webb Deane Stevens Museum, is a gorgeous location.  The grounds provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and the rustic barn was great for the reception.  While it was a little bit of a trek for us from Massachusetts, we had a great time and would love to shoot at this venue again!  Nicole and Greg found us through one of our previous couple, Mel & Julius, you might remember their wedding (you can view their wedding here & here).

Nicole & Greg’s daughter was a ham while we were getting ready. At one point my phone started vibrating and come to find out she was playing with Nicole’s phone and calling me.

Love this ring shot, we used the container of sand they poured together during the ceremony.  I love how the sands didn’t mix completely.

We created a guestbook for them using photos from their engagement session.  I love seeing the products we create for our couples out at the wedding.  They also ordered a few photos from their engagement session to use as decor for the reception.

Thanks for having us capture your wedding day Nicole & Greg.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

I thought it was the perfect time to post their engagement session.  We met up for their session in Hopedale where they live.  It’s where Megan’s family has lived for many years and is a special place.  We won’t have the chance to shoot here for their wedding so that is why they chose this location for their engagement session.  Drew wasn’t able to make this shoot, I had fun hanging out with them and their adorable dog Duncan.  (Important tip!  If you want to bring your dog with you to your session awesome!!  Just have someone else with you to help with the pup).

Our family of 3 is going to be a family of 4!!!! We are expecting our little nugget in early July, my Dad is hoping for a July 4th baby because that is his birthday! My friend Michelle, part owner of The Pink Pinwheel, wanted to make us some cupcakes to share the babies gender with our family & friends. It was a cute and yummy idea!   We of course snapped a few shots of the cupcakes.  Prue assisting Drew taking the photos of the cupcakes.

Finally the big reveal!  When you took a bite of the cupcake the color frosting indicated what we are having!

We look forward to welcoming the littlest MrDrew to our family.  Prue is excited about having a baby brother.  She was a little hesitant at first (since she was sure it was a baby girl).  She sometimes still says baby girl, but after I remind her she corrects herself.   Lot’s of mustached baby items are definitely in our future!  I think I’m going to have to have an intervention with Drew, we’ve already bought 2 little outfits and both are green and grey with stripes.
