Here is the second half of Katie and Kevin’s day!  After finishing up at Institute Park we all headed over to St. George’s Church in Worcester for the ceremony.  It was a full mass at the church that Katie grew up going to.  Once mass was over we headed over to the gorgeous Tuckerman Hall in Downtown Worcester.  It’s an amazing wedding venue, so much character and a great reception space.  Katie and Kevin decided to have a band and having the stage at the venue was perfect for that.  Katie did a great job pulling together all of the details and they really looked great at Tuckerman Hall.  Thanks again Katie and Kevin for letting us be a part of your wedding.  It was a beautiful day to witness two amazing people get married! The note Kevin was writing Katie earlier in the day :) Waiting for the ceremony to start.  Katie was a bundle of nerves, but her bridesmaids, her mom (and myself were there to calm her down!) Love her Dad looking at her as they walk down the aisle! Some special moments during the mass.  After mass we did a few quick portraits in the church with the wedding party and both families. Then it was off to Tuckerman Hall for the reception.  The rain had held off for us all day, it started down pouring during the reception, but we were able to take advantage of the great architectural features of Tuckerman Hall.  Love the groomsman popping his head out of the door in the image on the left.  The bridesmaids figured out a way to hold onto their bouquets but still be handsfree to enjoy their drinks! Love the details of the reception.  The flowers were lovely and the table numbers are genius, super easy & so pretty.  They had LED “votives” in them.  Super sparkly ring shot, check!  Kevin’s ring has some great details on it too! The guestbook we designed for them using their engagement photos! The wedding party had all planned different entrances The balcony at Tuckerman Hall allows for great photos like this one!  Drew and I would trade off who was downstairs and who was up in the balcony. The band Mirage had everyone on the dancefloor all night long!  They did a great job.  The saxophonist really got the crowd going when he came down for his solo! { The Details }

Congratulations to Katie & Kevin!  You might remember them from their engagement session last Fall.  They got married a few weeks ago on June 25.  We had a great time capturing their day and laughing the entire time.  Katie and I used to work a the same school so I knew some of the wedding party as well as some of the guests.

I decided with this wedding to try something new and separate the blog posts up into a few entries.  I always want to include so many photos and this way it isn’t overwhelming with a super long post.  They opted to do a first look so we did most of the formal posed portraits before the ceremony.  This way we had more time to shoot and they could enjoy more of the cocktail hour (we still captured a few shots during cocktail hour!)

Katie & her girls got ready at her parent’s house in Worcester and Kevin and the guys were at the Marriott in Worcester.  Once everyone was ready we met up at Institute Park in Worcester.  We gave Katie and Kevin a chance to see each other for the first time during their first look and then it was on to wedding party portraits.  This wedding party was a blast and we had so much fun.  Before we knew it was time to head over to the church.  The entire wedding party got into the limo and headed over.

Next up: The Ceremony at St. George’s Church in Worcester MA then onto the Reception at Tuckerman Hall in Worcester.

We can’t wait for Ashley and Derek’s wedding this August.  We had a great time with them during their engagement session at Hampton Beach.  We are even extra excited because we’ll be working with Danielle of Frills & Thrills event planning.  Their wedding is at the Methuen Music Hall with the reception at the Granite Rose. Two locations we haven’t shot at before but have heard are lovely.

Ashley and Derek love going up to Hampton Beach so when we were discussing locations for their session it made perfect sense to meet up there.  I did a little researching of the best locations to shoot at and we decided heading a little north of the main strip would be perfect (a little less crowded, and the rocks were great to climb on!).

We started right on the beach and it was a little overcast, while we were shooting we could see the sun peak out from behind the clouds so we found a condo complex that looked out onto the marshes and ventured out for some photos in the lovely warm sunlight.  We stayed on the edge of the marsh as we soon found out that most of it is really wet and smushy (which I sort of already knew, just hadn’t experience first hand).

After that we headed to their favorite pizza place, Christy’s Pizza and ended the session with some yummy pizza.  It’s another thing that Ashely & Derek like to do together.  They even mentioned they will sometimes come up to Hampton in the winter just to get a slice of Christy’s Pizza (they are still open in the winter!)

I love these two that Drew captured.  I told him to shut up when he showed them to me on the back of the camera.  LOVE the warm glow and the shilouettes.  Thanks Ashley & Derek for a great time!  We had a blast & can’t wait for your wedding this August!

Alison met Sebastian while he was visiting the US from Germany.  Sebastian was interning in Massachusetts and happened to meet Alison one night out in Boston.  He was tall and HOT (two things Alison later told her mom when describing the new guy in her life).  They dated for several years during which they moved to Australia where they have lived together, they made the trip back to the US to tie the knot!  Alison knew she wanted her wedding to be on the water and The Ocean View in Gloucester MA was the perfect venue.  It’s an amazing and charming venue right on the water.  We are honored to have been able to capture their special day. I loved the flowers!  They were gorgeous.  Dave Eng’s flowers did a fabulous job for sure. Alison’s adorable niece Harper.  I loved her curls & the flower in her hair.  She was a little shy, but did a great job walking down the aisle with her mom.I love this ceremony shot, I didn’t even realize there was the seagull in the sky until after I was looking at the photos on the computer. Sebastian was so sweet during the ceremony.  He was constantly kissing her hand and shoulder.  You can see how much he loves Alison.  Alison & her girls Anna & Lisa were gorgeous! The image on the left here is their supermodel pose.  They were working it for us during portraits! Love this portrait, so sweet and natural.  Drew and I both love this photo.  This was one of our sneak peeks on Facebook. Finally the other bridal party was off the rocks and we were able to head over for some amazing portraits of Alison & Sebastian on the rocks near the water.  It’s such an amazing place to shoot, we’d love the chance to shoot again at The Ocean View.  It’s such a beautiful location for a small and intimate wedding. Alison and Sebastian had their first dance and then went right into dance party with their guests.  The energy was amazing, everyone was having a blast and was so happy to have traveled from all over the world for the wedding. There were many toasts from Alison’s Dad, Sebastian’s Dad, Sebastian’s brother Robert, Maid of Honor Lisa, and Sebastian’s two dear friends Justus & Michael.  Alison’s Uncle even snuck in a toast.  Finally Sebastian ended the toasts by talking a little bit about hie lovely bride.  It was really sweet to hear what everyone had to say about Alison & Sebastian.  There was a lot of love from everyone and lots of funny stories.

Great Advice for couples who know there will be lots of toasts:  Spread them out throughout dinner.  Alison had the toasts scheduled between courses so guests had a break & it was perfect. Right before the entree’s were served we stole the couple for a few more photos outside now that the sun had gone down some.  I’m glad we were able to grab these photos with the sign on the Ocean View. During dinner it rained briefly and then a rainbow appeared.  Drew was able to capture a few shots of it before it disappeared completely.  Unfortunately it was during toasts so we couldn’t steal Alison & Sebastian to go outside and grab a few shots with it.  After dinner it was time for dancing and Alison & Sebastian  and their guests had an awesome time dancing it up.  The floor was packed most of the night. Alison & Sebastian, Thanks for allowing us to capture your day.  It was an lovely wedding day & we had an amazing time spending the day with you & capturing it.

Our niece Kaylee just turned 1 last week.  A couple weeks before her first birthday I headed up to shoot Kaylee’s first birthday and cake smash session.  We were able to hang out in the back yard and shoot these.  Prue and my Dad came up with me and they can both attest to the fact that Kaylee didn’t stop moving for a second.  She was all over the yard, crawling and climbing on everything.  Even with all the craziness I was able to capture some great images of her.  It just kept me on my toes.  After we did some regular portraits we busted out the little birthday cake & Kaylee went right after it.  She had a great time playing and eating it (Prue also enjoyed a little cake after Kaylee was finished).

Happy First Birthday KAYLEE!  We love you :)
