This mini session happened way back in November (I think it was November, that seems ages ago) .  It was a mini session that I shot in Worcester, I also had a maternity session booked that same day right before it.  It made the treck out to Worcester worth it!  We have posted some sneak peeks from our mini sessions in the Fall, but never a full blog post.  I was recently updating our portrait portfolio site and was looking through all of our previous sessions.  I decided that I had to do a full blog post of this one, I just love these photos (and love the family that these photos are of!).

We headed down to CT for Greg & Nicole’s wedding this past September, with the rush of holiday portrait sessions and orders there wedding never made it to our blog :( Better late then never, right.  We had a great time on a lovely September day celebrating with their family and friends.  The Webb Barn, at the Webb Deane Stevens Museum, is a gorgeous location.  The grounds provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and the rustic barn was great for the reception.  While it was a little bit of a trek for us from Massachusetts, we had a great time and would love to shoot at this venue again!  Nicole and Greg found us through one of our previous couple, Mel & Julius, you might remember their wedding (you can view their wedding here & here).

Nicole & Greg’s daughter was a ham while we were getting ready. At one point my phone started vibrating and come to find out she was playing with Nicole’s phone and calling me.

Love this ring shot, we used the container of sand they poured together during the ceremony.  I love how the sands didn’t mix completely.

We created a guestbook for them using photos from their engagement session.  I love seeing the products we create for our couples out at the wedding.  They also ordered a few photos from their engagement session to use as decor for the reception.

Thanks for having us capture your wedding day Nicole & Greg.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

This post is a little late coming.  We’ve had the photos collected for a couple weeks, but then kept disputing what to keep in and what to take out.  Drew wanted to narrow down the list even more so that meant the post got put on hold for a bit.  I didn’t end up editing the list down as much as Drew wanted (sorry).  Anyway here are some of our favorite images from our weddings this past year.  We tried to select images that we love that also show all of the different moments that happen during a wedding from the prepping all the way through to dance party at the end of the night.  Enjoy!

Best of 2011 Engagements

Coming up with a best of post has been really tough.  Drew picked his faves and then I went through and selected my faves.  I think we had the intention of selecting just one photo from each engagement session, but then I realized I couldn’t do that (Drew thinks he could, but I argued that I didn’t want to eliminate some of the images).  So here are some of our fave couple shots from this past year!  Enjoy

The first few are from Jill+Victor’s engagement session in New Hampshire. We headed up to a bed and breakfast that Jill’s mom often likes to stay at.  Jill and Victor were married this past May at Flag Hill Winery (you’ll see more of them in our Best of Weddings!)
This next group of photos are from Steph+Chris’ engagement session at Amherst MA (these images are all from UMASS, but we also spent some time downtown).  This is my baby brother so it was really difficult to narrow the images down.  They will be getting married this coming May.  (Drew would like me to add in that this is his favorite image)
Next up we have Melanie+Dan’s engagement session in Lowell MA.  We loved shooting in this parking garage!  We’ll be shooting their wedding at the Danversport Yacht club this April. For this one we headed down to Fall River (where Drew grew up) for Megan & Alan’s session.  This park is tucked right along the edge of the river in Fall River (right near the battleship).  Megan & Alan haven’t sent a date yet, but we look forward to capturing their wedding day when it happens!Next up is Ashley & Derek’s engagement session at the beach in Hampton NH.  They have loved going up to hang out at the beach for many years so it seemed like a perfect location for their session.  It was overcast at first, but then this amazing sunset happened when the sun came below the cloud cover.  Ashley & Derek were married this past August at the Methuen Music Hall with the reception at the Granite Rose.  Megan & Marc will be getting married this March.  I actually realized that their entire session never hit the blog, so keep an eye out for their full session on the blog in the coming weeks!  We shot their session in Hopedale close to where they live.  Duncan their dog was the star of many of the images.  Megan and Marc will be getting married this March.Nicole & Greg had their session in Worcester.  They live down in Connecticut and were down with meeting us in Worcester for their session.  My sister use to live in Worcester so I am pretty familiar with the city.  We shot these at the train station right downtown.  Their wedding took place this September in Connecticut at the Webb Barn at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.  Here’s another wedding that I just realized hasn’t hit the blog yet :( Drew says I should blame having a 3 year old.
Finally these last two images are from some mini sessions we did for the Holidays.  You’ll be seeing more of the lovely people in this first image as we shoot Carla & John’s full engagement session sometime this spring or summer as well as after we shoot their wedding this coming October. We end with this image of Amanda & Chris and their adorable little dog Lily.  They haven’t set a date yet but we hope to be able to capture their special day when it happens!

I had a fun time hanging out with these 3 beautiful young ladies back in the Fall.  It was a unseasonably warm day and felt more like summer.  The girls were great and worked it out despite the heat.  The session was a gift for Lext (the lovely Brunette in the middle of the first set of images) and she decided to bring along 2 of her best friends.  I think this is such a great idea for a tween/teen girl that you don’t know what to get for her.  Her Aunt and I went to high school together and she approached me with the idea.  It was such a fun session idea and I look forward to shooting more best friend sessions!  The girls wanted to bring some sort of fun Prop.  Lexi’s Aunt found these glasses while out shopping.  I thought they were perfect (obviously!)

Thanks for a great session Girls!  :) Amanda

We donate our time each year to photographing The Ride to Camp Bike Run.  The bike run raises money for Camp Welch in Assonet MA.  The camp is part of the Boy’s & Girl’s Club of Fall River.  The B&G Club has been a big part of my (Drew’s) family growing up. I believe at one time or another EVERYONE in my family has worked there.  My uncle ran the club as well as the camp for many years.  This is an annual event that takes place during August each year and we have been happy to help out and donate our time for such a great cause.  Camp Welch is a location where a lot of my summer memories take place.  (Im sure I could dig up some old photos to prove this, but you’ll have to take my word for it. Hair styles and terrible 80’s clothes keep me from exposing you to such pictures).

The run kicks off at Durfee High School in Fall River Ma…
Amanda went out and captured some shots of the Bikes while out on the run.
The run ends at Camp Welch.  The sound of all the bikes coming into camp is amazing.  One of us ends up at the top of a ladder as they are coming in and is just snapping away, trying to capture all the riders on their bikes. After all the bikes are parked at camp, we usually take the time to capture some detail shots of the bikes.
You know we have to represent for Up in Flames Tattoo!  It’s the tattoo shop we go to for all our tattoo’s. Actually most of Drew’s family has gotten ink at the shop too.  It’s our family tattoo shop!
Food, games and music are at the forefront of the remaining day at the camp. It has evolved into an event that can be enjoyed by the whole family.  Our 3 year old daughter Prue loves coming to camp after the run.  She spent the entire day running around and playing with some of the other kids.
That’s our little nugget in the pink bathing suit going down the slide!
Each year they have a dj during the morning at Durfee and then after the ride they have several bands playing.  This year it was The Criminals, Identity Crisis & Bone Shaker.
Relay races and other rodeo games are set up for the riders to participate in through out the day at camp.  Even if you aren’t playing in the games it is still fun to watch.

The whole day was a success and raised A LOT of money for a great place.  Thanks to all the great sponsors, especially our two major sponsors, Citizens Union Savings Bank & Mechanics Cooperative Bank.
If you’d like to view all the photos from the day you can find them on this site: http://mrdrewphotography.zenfolio.com/ridetocamp You can order prints directly from this site of any of the images from the event.  Use the coupon code Ride2011 to save 20% off the prints from now till the end of October.

Congratulations to Katie & Kevin!  You might remember them from their engagement session last Fall.  They got married a few weeks ago on June 25.  We had a great time capturing their day and laughing the entire time.  Katie and I used to work a the same school so I knew some of the wedding party as well as some of the guests.

I decided with this wedding to try something new and separate the blog posts up into a few entries.  I always want to include so many photos and this way it isn’t overwhelming with a super long post.  They opted to do a first look so we did most of the formal posed portraits before the ceremony.  This way we had more time to shoot and they could enjoy more of the cocktail hour (we still captured a few shots during cocktail hour!)

Katie & her girls got ready at her parent’s house in Worcester and Kevin and the guys were at the Marriott in Worcester.  Once everyone was ready we met up at Institute Park in Worcester.  We gave Katie and Kevin a chance to see each other for the first time during their first look and then it was on to wedding party portraits.  This wedding party was a blast and we had so much fun.  Before we knew it was time to head over to the church.  The entire wedding party got into the limo and headed over.

Next up: The Ceremony at St. George’s Church in Worcester MA then onto the Reception at Tuckerman Hall in Worcester.
